Ady & Meg.
We used AllTrails to navigate this walk. Although the app says to go anti-clockwise we decided to do it clockwise (starting by walking up the forest tracks). In our opinion this was an easier way to do the walk, by having a slow incline up towards the summit.
Admittedly the views on route are very sporadic. However once you start climbing Tor Y Foel itself, the views of the reservoir get better and better (Remember to keep looking behind you!)
Once you get to the top of Tor Y Foel you are rewarded with 360° views of the reservoir and surrounding area. We did this walk in February and were even treated to a bit of snow at the top.
The descent is quite steep in places and can get very wet and boggy - please take care.
Flossie.
I wasn't allowed to go in the water, as it wasn't safe. I like walks like this where I can find a stick nice and early.
At the top Ady kept throwing some cold white balls for me. I kept catching them and they disappeared?! 🤯
