Where to park

We did not have the car with us - the mini bus dropped us here:

Directions of walk

From the drop off point we walked to the Plitvice shuttle bus (covered within our entrance ticket) which took us to the Upper Lakes. From here, we followed Route H, crossing the lake via boat (covered within our entrance ticket) to the Lower Lakes. The mini bus picked us up at Entrance 1. Everything was very well sign posted.

Ady & Meg.

This has been quite a difficult review to write and a topic subject to a lot of debate...

We were so excited to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park - Social Media posts had painted a picture of a real adventure, stunning aqua-blue lakes and a true feeling of being at one amongst nature...

The reality was that we entered just another tourist park. Absolutely rammed with people and a walk (notice we haven't used the word 'hike') easy enough that you could get away with wearing sandals.

We are very surprised to learn that you can actually pay for a tour of this place - this is absolutely not needed to navigate around the park, however you may wish to book this to receive additional information (although we can't comment on the quality of this).

Are we glad we went? - Yes, the park was pretty and it was still a nice way to spend a hot day.

Do we wish Social Media hadn't misled us - also Yes 🤣

Flossie.

I was not invited on this adventure ☹
