Ady & Meg.
This is our favourite walk in The Peak District (so far...)
If you do the route anti-clockwise (as per AllTrails) you will find yourself very quickly scrambling up the side of the cliff that is 'Hen Cloud'. Admittedly having Flossie with us did complicate matters slightly, but equally we feel descending this way would have been a lot worse! Once at the top your efforts are very well rewarded with amazing views and the rest of the walk is definitely less strenuous.
Once you have hiked over The Roaches you eventually reach Lud's Church, a deep moss-covered chasm said to have been created by the Devil's fingernail 👿🤣 We would recommend getting here early as we imagine the place would have a totally different feel if packed with people!
Flossie.
I definitely enjoyed rock climbing up the side of the cliff and playing with sticks in the woods on the lead up to Lud's Church. I found Lud's Church itself a little bit creepy, but luckily we weren't in there long 🐶
