Ady & Meg.
If you are looking for an alternative to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) this is the hike for you!
The car park is right next to the bus stop for people climbing Snowdon, so we recommend arriving early to secure a space. Once out of the car park there is a short stint of road walking with no pavement, but once that was over and done with we saw very few other people on this hike.
We completed the route anticlockwise and definitely recommend doing it in this way - although both ways are steep, we feel coming down the way we went up would have been much worse!
This hike is not for the faint hearted. As well as very long and very steep, the only way to reach the summit of Elidir Fawr is a tricky scramble over rocks with absolutely no clear path.
Flossie.
I enjoyed this walk and had no issues tackling the scramble, however this would probably be too tricky for smaller dogs.
