Where to park

The Basilica is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CvZqkC2ueVa1FkRK6

Website: https://www.sacre-coeur-montmartre.com/

It is free to enter the Basilica itself, but if you wish you can pay to climb up to the Dome. Neither can be booked in advance.

Ady & Meg.

The Basilica is a must see if you are in the Montmartre area. Personally we think the views of it (rather than in it / from it) are the most impressive, but it does get very busy.

If approaching from the bottom of the park, there are 270 steps to climb to reach the Basilica itself. We highly recommend frequent photo stops - both of the Basilica and of the stunning view of Paris behind you!

Once at the top, it is free to enter the Basilica and if you still have energy you may wish to pay to climb the further 300 steps up to the Dome for more lovely views - be warned, the staircase is spiral and very narrow (we consider ourselves pretty hardy, but even we felt a little dizzy on the way down! 😵‍💫😂).

In order to climb the Dome, you need to turn left just after the bag search area (i.e. down the outside of the Basilica). On the day we went there was a queue to buy tickets from the cashier, but we were able to skip this by buying our tickets from the machine outside.

Flossie.

I was not invited on this adventure ☹
