Bryntail closed in 1884, but remains of it still stand. We planned a quick stop off here to explore the ruins, and then we followed our noses as per the directions above. Following a short climb we were rewarded with stunning far reaching views of the landscape and reservoir. The site also has good signage detailing a short woodland walk and a longer walk encompassing the reservoir.

As part of our day out we paired this with the Llyn Clywedog and Yr Allt walk and the Clywedog Reservoir Viewpoint.

I really enjoyed my walk here. It had a good mix of woodland and open ground, and I enjoyed running through the dog-sized tunnels!
