A stunning castle with plenty of history. You can of course visit the castle independently, but we feel that the tour definitely added to our experience.
Our Tour Guide was very informative and had plenty of interesting facts to tell us.
Our favourite quote about Scotland was from this Guide: "There are two seasons in Scotland. Winter & June." 🤣
The tour starts outside on the Royal Mile. Walking up the street with lots of facts about how impenetrable the castle was.
Once in the castle there was lots of historical information about wars, changes made by Queen Victoria and current uses.
Once the tour was over, you are allowed to roam and take in the castle at your own leisure.
This was a great way of seeing the castle.
