Rome is amazing for Coeliacs, we promise you will certainly not go hungry in this city!
That said, some places stood out more than others for the right reasons, and this AIC accredited restaurant was one of them!
AIC are the Italian Coeliac Society, and if a restaurant is accredited by them you can feel pretty confident that they treat Coeliacs well.
This restaurant was not mentioned on any of the Coeliac blogs we had read, but we decided to give it a try following a mention on social media - and we are so glad that we did!
As soon as the waiter knew we were Coeliac, they gave us cutlery, glasses and placemats (pictured below) so that any member of staff dealing with us could easily see that we were Coeliac. The staff gave us such confidence and the food was delicious.
There are lots of amazing gluten free restaurants in Rome - but this is the only one that we visited twice!
Obviously as always, please use your own judgement - this is a restaurant which contains gluten and we completely appreciate that it's often the staff member that you deal with who makes the experience. On this occasion, we were very satisfied customers.
Flossie.
I was not invited on this adventure ☹
