This castle sits on the one side of Ponte Sant'Angelo (bridge), towering over the river. You can view the outside of the castle for free, and we definitely recommend visiting at night to see it all lit up.
We had originally booked to do this with Viator. However, the meeting point on the app was incorrect and we couldn't find our guide. With this being the last thing we wanted to do before flying home, we opted to buy directly from the ticket booth.
Once in, we had the freedom to roam and take in the castle at our own pace. The inside of the castle has some beautiful rooms with fantastic artwork and the panoramic views from the top of the castle are stunning.
Even with the stress due to Viator we still thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
